Creeping Me Out is an upcoming Amiga platform game deep in development, built in Scorpion Engine. It’s due 2026 (or whenever it's finished!).

CMO is an ambitious title and will be a commercial release, with a price that reflects that. This page is to track it’s development and get updates. The demos are free/PAYF. YOU ARE NOT BUYING THE FULL GAME by paying for the demos, please contact me if there’s been any confusion! - Thank you! - Mixel

Francis is waiting for his friends in the bar when disaster strikes! Some sort of magical catastrophe has befallen the town of Gorcester! No time to think! You’ll have to find your friends before setting off on an arduous journey to confront whoever, or whatever is responsible!

A Platform Adventure game with modern sensibilities, the game has Euro platformer blood with hopefully a challenging, fair heart. . From a purely mechanical perspective, it’s somewhere between Castlevania(3) and Turrican. Mild exploration and secrets, occasional alternate paths, etc.

Features Of CMO...

  • Two playable characters with differing skills.
  • Passwords to save progress.
  • EHB (64 main colours) graphics with heavy use of copper effects (hundreds of colours on screen!) - without AGA.
  • Huge campaign, hours of gameplay.
  • A quirky cast of characters who'll help and hinder your progress.
  • Smooth 50hz performance
  • Weapon upgrades.
  • Hidden paths and puzzles.
  • Huge bosses.

About The Demos

I recommend an 020, 2MB Chip RAM and 1+ MB Fast. Your mileage may vary on other specs. I'm happy to try help where I can with more exotic setups. Performance of the demos does not reflect performance of the final game.

You can find out a bit more about this project at my site.. As well as on MixelsLab Twitch where I stream the game's development frequently!

Saluti e good luck !!

Goodbye !!

Well how does it look, is there already an update of the great game ?

No recent updates, sorry, life has been chaos. 🙁 It's not forgotten and I do dabble in the dev process occasionally. It'll be back to speed ASAP.

Very cool! This game would look great on MEGA DRIVE too. I hope it happens one day!

Now that Scorpion Engine supports Mega Drive that's not impossible.. but will be a long while after the amiga version as i'll have to change a hell of a lot of stuff to get it working. :)

Really great, it plays great. I'm looking forward to the finished game. Such a title was missing on the Amiga. It's got everything I'm looking for. Will you be able to save on the CD32 version and will there be music from CD on the CD32 version?

The only criticism is that I don't like the sound stack. There is still room for improvement. But that's also the only thing I can criticize so far.

Thankyou, glad you're liking so far! Audio is something I'll be getting better at, hopefully. :D

Saving on CD32 and CDAudio are two planned features for scorpion engine that aren't in there yet.. But I'd certainly like CD32 version to have CD Audio, I should be much better at the music under those circumstances too. :) Worst case scenario at least there'll always be the password system, too.

Awesome game!

TY! And thanks for always being so quick with these videos. 😁

This looks really interesting. I'm looking forward to a full release so that I can further show my appreciation.

I currently run PUAE (portable WIN-UAE), which doesn't play nice with lha files (sometimes they work, sometimes they don't). The demo isn't working with my set up. Any chance you could compile a HDF file or WHDLoad?

Oh yes, certainly.. 😊 I'm working on the 1.2 build which should be up in the next day or two and I'll include a few different formats for compatibility's sake when i upload that.

Awesome - thank you. I'll keep an eye out.

1.2 is up, hopefully without issue. :) I don't know about PUAE but I've added the basic default scorpion whdload wrapper and an Amiberry archive just in case - do you get an error message when the standard exe doesn't load? (it might work in this latest build, maybe?)

I used the WHDLoad file. I had to extract it to a folder and target scorpion_loader.slave to boot (I use Launchbox to do this). Works as intended :)

Awesome game!

Thank you!😊

oh very nostaligic ...you make tips play on line ema amiga ?

Thanks! I'm not 100% sure I understand, but currently you can play a version of the demo in AmigaLive, which is probably the easiest way to get it working without figuring out a lot of emulation stuff.. I'm not aware of any online emulator that runs demanding amiga games like this.. It will support non amiga-users soon, but i can't really talk about specifics yet. 😊

cool .. i like amiga games nostaligic ..you think make version pc for unity or unreal?

I’ll definitely be supporting Windows and Mac eventually one way or another. 🙂
